The House of Strahd
This was the reading from Madam Eva, and notes the party would be given by their meeting with Rictavio
This card tells of history. Knowledge of the ancient will help you better understand your enemy.
Look to the one who sees all. The treasure is hidden in her camp.
Madam Eva was surprised by this reading. She allowed the group to search through the tents and wagons to locate the object, later identified as the Tome of Strahd by Rictavio.
This card tells of a powerful force for good and protection, a holy symbol of great hope.
What you seek lies in a pile of treasure, beyond a set of amber doors.
Rictavio would later suggest looking to the Amber Temple along the North ridge of Mount
Ghakis. This must be what is called the Holy Symbol of Ravenkind, a ancient symbol of the Morninlord.
This is a card of power and strength. It tells of a weapon of vengeance: a sword of sunlight.
I see a garden dusted with snow, watched over by a scarecrow with a sackcloth grin. Look not to the garden but to the guardian.
Rictavio would suggest that the only garden dusted with snow may be at the Abby of Saint Markovia. He spoke of a sunsword that would shed sunlight, which causes the undead great pain.
This card sheds light on one who will help you greatly in the battle against darkness.
A Vistana wanders this land alone, searching for her mentor. She does not stay in one place for long. Seek her out at Saint Markovia’s abbey, near the mists.
When this was told to Rictavio he appeared distressed and ended his engagement with the party. Only to ask them to leave, very firmly.
Your enemy is a creature of darkness, whose powers are beyond mortality. This card will lead you to him!
He dwells with the one whose blood sealed his doom, a brother of light snuffed out too soon.
Rictavio suggested this may be a location in which Strahd would be his weakest or fortunes tell where the party would have their final stand with Strahd. He did not know the location but suggested learning more about the history of Strahd and his brother. Where could his brother be found now?
